China Travel Words

Zoige

Intending to leave Jiuzhaigou for Songpan, my bus broke down about an hour into the ride.  A Korean girl, Israeli girl, and I decided to catch a ride with a passing car rather than waiting a few hours for the next bus.  After stringing together several different rides, I decided to head towards Langmusi and ended up in Zoige for the night unable to catch a connection all the way.

I didn’t expect much of the night, but ended up getting pulled into a teahouse by a Tibetan monk and chatting for a few hours.

Lo Tzo Tse Rung, in Zoige.

After talking for a while about the things that tend to bother Tibetan monks in China and telling me about trying to cross the border into India only to be apprehended by Chinese authorities, he suggested that I should marry one of the waitresses.

Future wife?

After moving past this and exchanging phone numbers, I went on my to wander around the other couple of streets in town.

Group shot.
