To say that the Burj Khalifa dominates the skyline of Dubai would be putting it lightly. The Khalifa IS the skyline of Dubai. There are other interesting and tall buildings, but they are emasculated dwarfs beside this.
Taking the elevator to the 124th floor (out of 160) viewing platform is relatively expensive and super-touristy, and with a personal predilection for tall buildings my visit to Dubai would have felt horrendously incomplete with doing it. You’ve already seen the pictures of Dubai a few days ago, so I’ll leave you here with just these pictures of the Burj Khalifa itself.
I would probably never do it again, but I had to do it once. The elevator to the top(ish) of the tallest building in the world.

Like most of the touristy bits of Dubai, the Burj Khalifa is pretty easy to explore on your own (though do be sure to buy tickets in advance!). If you’d rather go with a tour group, though, I”ve worked as a photographer for several tours with GetYourGuide that offered anything from transport to the area up to a guide to go along with you to the observation deck. My tip: individually buy a ticket for 45min or so before sunset, then get up there and wait from full light through to dark for the ideal Khalifa experience!
