Angkor Wat

The main reason I came to Cambodia, aside from the awesome intel my friend Tori from Shenzhen gave me, was for the Angkor Wat temple complex and archaeological park.

The park itself is around 400 square km, with temples scattered all throughout built by the ancient Angkor civilization that at one point ruled over much of Southeast Asia.  I decided on a three day pass, and even then only saw a small portion of the temples in the area.  Most of these temples are 1000 years or more old, and some of them have been abandoned to the jungle and are in a seriously overgrown state.

While Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom are the two most popular temple sites, I tended to prefer areas like Ta Som, Preah Khan, and Ta Nei which were harder to get to but had a lot less people and more of an adventurous and mysterious atmosphere.

Once I get a better wireless connection, I’ll upload more photos to flickr.  For now, these will have to do!
