A Visit to the Bishkek Philharmonia: Culture Night in the Land of Manas

I’m not just all about travel, you know.

I’m also, like, cultured and stuff!

Which is how I ended up at a sweet gala show in the Bishkek Philharmonic building.

To be honest, I had no idea which songs were Kyrgyz and which were other Central Asian languages. The Italian opera numbers were clearly neither.

Regardless of comprehension, though, it was a great night out and a big change from a standard backpackers’ experience of a city.
