I really should change the name of my Texas photo album to ‘Things I Did Not Expect To Find Beautiful’ instead of whatever it is now. You may add to that list of unexpectedly nice things: Historic Downtown Jefferson.

I quite literally had to be berated by an old woman to turn down the road to come here. Once we arrived, though, I realized that even old ladies talk sense sometimes. The thing that really got me about this place? I’ve seen so much ‘Restored Old’ lately that stumbling across a little pocket of ‘Legit Old’ was actually a bit overwhelming. I’ve got so many pictures of stuff like the bandstand, dreadfully framed and poorly exposed, just because I wasn’t prepared for what to do with it! Yet another little pocket of unexpected beauty from a few months in Texas.
