Islamic Art Museum Istanbul
I know it may seem like I wont stop talking about this recently, but I’m really stoked to be heading back to Central Asia. One of the first touristy things I’ve done in Istanbul is the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts.
A lot of the exhibits, stuff like Arabic calligraphy and intricate hand-woven rugs and ornate carved wooden doors/tombstones/panels, reminded me of all the similar types of creations in museums and mosques throughout Central Asia.
As a bonus, the museum is housed in a former palace with a nice little balcony looking out over the Blue Mosque in front. Definitely a place worth the 10 Lira.
