Nasher Sculpture Garden and Museum

Nasher Sculpture Garden and Museum

I know I mentioned this when I was talking about the Fort Worth Stockyards, but I was really pleasantly surprised by Dallas/Fort-Worth. Not only was the area sort of culturally-interesting (see: Stockyards) but there was also a bit of Culture to be found.

I think Joanna, my host in Dallas and friend from college, had been here before. Regardless I’d found the place online and wanted to give it a visit, and wasn’t disappointed. Like all modern art and especially sculpture galleries, some of it was a hit and some were a miss for me.

Even if the entire place had been terrible, though, I don’t think I would have minded terribly. It was a beautiful green space with interesting artwork set in the midst of a major urban center. Even better, just down the street was a notable reclaimed space that Dallas has  put to good use as the newly opened Klyde Warren Park. Joanna and I passed on the options for croquet, dog walking, and food trucks (why did’t we eat at the food trucks?!) but did manage a quick kick-around with a soccer ball and a stranger or two.

Salty
Beergarita: thats actually a thing.

To celebrate a beautiful day, afterwards we went to a place on the Katy Trail with Beergaritas. Because life is all about balance.
