On the notion of daytrips from Bishkek, the Tokmok Bazaar is another obvious choice.

What better way to wake up in the morning, after all, than watching a couple of Kyrgyz dudes rassle livestock towards their eventual doom?

Or watching this kid, clearly as upset as I about being out of bed that early, canter through the parking lot. I can only assume he was looking for coffee, that elusive nectar.

There’s plenty of buying and selling.

Plenty of sitting and chatting (and usually some tea-sipping as well).
