You know those places that are justĀ so close to home that you never actually get to them? The ones that visitors seem to have gone to, but you’ve only heard of? Wimberly, Tx is one of those.
I’ve known this name for years as my aunt and uncle have long taken their kids here for vacation. I somehow never made it until a few weeks ago, even though Austin (near which my mom’s family now lives) is only 28 miles away. Not only does this little town of ~2600 have waterfront cabins for rent on the beautiful Blanco River, but also once a month the second largest flea market in Texas.
Given all the time I spend talking about photography in the Bazaars of Central Asia, I think perhaps I owe it to myself and Texas to give this one a try as well.
